The conference topic, &#8216;The History of Newton&#8217;s Philosophy&#8217; (<a href=\"http:\/\/listserv.liv.ac.uk\/cgi-bin\/wa?A2=ind1304&#038;L=philos-l&#038;T=0&#038;P=72614\" target=\"_blank\">inaccurately reported in some quarters<\/a> as &#8216;The History of Oxbridge Philosophy&#8217;), will surely be of interest to scholars across the broadest range of disciplines and adepts of &#8216;the Hunting of the Greene Lion&#8217; alike.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, <a href=\"http:\/\/listserv.liv.ac.uk\/cgi-bin\/wa?A2=ind1305&#038;L=philos-l&#038;T=0&#038;P=34873\" target=\"_blank\">shameless censorship<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/listserv.liv.ac.uk\/cgi-bin\/wa?A2=ind1305&#038;L=philos-l&#038;T=0&#038;P=38416\" target=\"_blank\">wanton misrepresentation<\/a> on the part of Philos-L moderator Professor Stephen Clark has left many with the mistaken impression that<br \/>\nDr Wakefield is a pathetic, deluded fantasist whose claim to a Cambridge Philosophy doctorate is nothing but a figment of his own fevered imagination, mere contact with whom<br \/>\nwill prove fatal to one&#8217;s professional reputation.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, the Conference&#8217;s <i>dramatis person&#230;<\/i> (accurate at the time of writing) will surely prove a standing refutation of any such charge.
