After dinner Mr. Golshiri asked the Jameson boys, ‘Do you like to hear stories?’

The American boys nodded sheepishly, while Mr. Golshiri’s own children, who were about the same age, said in unison, ‘Oh please, Father, tell us a story!’

‘Let us retire by the furnace.’ The Host of the house guided the party towards the red and black patterned rug. They took their places on rug pillow-cushions of the same color spread out on the floor around the furnace. ‘We have a long history of telling bedtime stories in our family.’
